Curriculum Development and Assessment Training
Participants can attend either Curriculum Development OR Assessment Training. A certificate will be provided at the end of the training.
This will be a total of 8 hours of virtual training. At the completion of the training participants will receive a certificate of completion. Participants can attend the Curriculum Development Training OR the Assessment Training OR both. When you register you will gain access to all 8 hours of training. All trainings will be done via zoom.
Curriculum Development Training 4 hours.

March 31, 2026 from 1:00pm-3:00pm
**NOTE: You must complete all 4 hours of training to receive your curriculum development training certificate.
Training Description: in this session we will investigate learning theories, program planning, tools, and methods for curriculum development. In addition, we will practice and apply principles developmentally and culturally appropriate practices when designing curriculum and aligning current used curriculum with the Washington State Developmental Guidelines.
Objectives:
1-Identify major early childhood curriculum theories, and trends in curriculum design for early learning environments.
2-Apply principles of developmentally, individually, and culturally appropriate practices when designing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum.
3-Plan developmentally appropriate activities and schedules.
4-Practice aligning current used curriculum with the Washington state Developmental Guidelines.
Assessment Training 4 hours.

April 22, 2026 from 1:00pm-3:00pm

Training Description: In this training we will explore what assessment is, discuss ways to incorporate the program, and how it is different from screening. In addition, we will identify how assessment supports the individualization of instructions, helps children to grow, and explore different types of assessment that can be used.
Objectives:
1-Recognize the reasons for doing assessment and why it is important.
2-Identify the different types of assessment and methods of assessment.
3- Apply principles of developmentally, individually, and culturally appropriate practices when implementing assessment.
4- Identify the difference between assessment and screening.
