The Washington Association for the Education of Young Children (WAEYC) is Washington’s affiliate of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Its purpose is to serve and to act on behalf of the needs and rights of ALL children, birth to 8 years old, with primary focus on the provision of educational services and resources for early learning professionals. As a non-profit organization, it promotes its members’ professional development and is committed to the active support of children’s greatest social, emotional, physical, and intellectual potential. Our board has an integral role to play in ensuring we are meeting our purpose.

Member-at-large(5) – Governing Board Meets Bi-Monthly via Zoom
**As WAEYC grows its communities we are seeking board members who are able to speak in multiple languages including but not limited to Spanish, Somali and Arabic.

All positions begin March 1 (terms are 2 years except president-elect; president elect serves for 1 year, then becomes president for two years, and then past president 1 year – for a total of 4 years.
